Election Day Doodling
Election day! I woke up early, also forgot to change the clocks the other day for daylight savings, so I’m thinking it’s an hour later. Then went out to vote. I thought Vermin Supreme was going to be on the ballot. That will disappoint a few people I know. So Now I have to wait a good many hours before I can see any results.
Time for some watercolor doodling. This time I decided to work with just 3 or 4 colors and add to one of my doodle book pages that I’ve been using.
I did quite a bit of doodling. There was an earlier practice bit of a guy painting the side of the wall red. I gave that one a little bit more dimension. I started with a blue wall. Then I added a lot of clear water. From there different colors were add and I let the water do its magic and this is what ended up happening. I think it works.
The other thing I did was to try my hand a filming myself painting.
Gear:
Nikon D7200
RODE VideoMic Pro+

I thought I would just use the natural light that was coming in the window. I don’t think it worked too well on the finished film. Also I discovered, the viewscreen of the camera showed the entire watercolor pad, but the video was cropped. So much of what I was painting was not in the film. I edited the film using a program called HitFilm Express. You get the see some of my into to the colors I use and the painting (along with my thoughts at the time) of the middle section.
